Italian moments

June 25 to Singapore for 2 nights then Bologna via Frankfurt 27 June to Molinella by car with Stefan & Zeudi from Sunday 1 July to 8 July - without camera or video-camera only notebook and memory - go daily to Bologna Fiera to Italian Dancesport Championships - 4 dance floors going simultaneously to accomodate 35,000 dancers for Dancesport including IDSF International Latin, Professional Ballroom, every possible age-group & grade competition in Latin & Ballroom, Argentinian Tango, Folk Dancing, Tap and a lot more - also travelling around with S & Z - in a big black 1993 Mercedes that used to belong to Zeudi's father Sergio - when they go teaching dancing in the evenings until late & see daily dance practice at Team Diablo's Pala Danze in Molinella - big dance studio with walls covered with mirrors both ends - drive to Bassano del Grappa for dinner with Zeudi's family July 10 - temperature never out of the 30s C & often nearer 40 - reason for car breaking down one night, restored by putting water in radiator - brief glimpse of Villa Contarini in Piazzola at night - and the monument to Marconi at Sasso Marconi - back to Auckland via Frankfurt & Hong Kong July 16 - jetlag lasted about 10 days - one memorable very hot night at Montepiano where S & Z were to dance at presentation of prizes for a C.A.S.M car-rally at 9.30 pm but delayed by drivers all down at hotel having a dinner till about 11.30 & a fashion show of fur-coats with 5 inexperienced models all hilarious & drunk - computer with music breaking down for quarter of an hour - seemingly endless presentation of prizes - finally dancing for 3 minutes at just after midnight - flower arrangements in tall hollow stands surmounted by a car tyre ornamented with red-hot-pokers and bird-of-paradise flowers

This 'accumulation' begins in New South Wales -- hey there, Steel, who thought I was Australian -- early morning radio with Tony Oldham motoring down clogged Pacific Highway to Sydney -- 'kissy girls' was what my granddaughter Nicki told us she'd been playing at school no explanation -- there were bad bishops -- the Sydney Morning Herald was saying about something or other being 'a bleeding obvious idea' later my daughter Polly's car was almost blocked in the supermarket carpark -- I know Leah likes this kind of information ----- the snaky lines mean this 'accumulation' or 'news' needs to be read [aloud of course] as in my original file -- I tried to put a sound-file on here but cdn't make it work Download accumulation_11.docAccumulationspoems
